3 rd Circuit Rejects Heightened Test in Reverse Discrimination Lawsuit (The Legal Intelligencer, January 19, 2000)

Attila Berry, Legal Times, Law.com 3/19/07 Reports that Diversity Goals Could Face Legal Attack

"Large law firms have their fancy, well-designed Web sites with the word 'diversity' prominently displayed. They have their diversity committees, diversity partners, mentors, affinity groups, and a host of other programs designed to attract and retain minority and women lawyers. Most important, they have their clients, Fortune 500 companies such as Wal-Mart and Sara Lee demanding that their outside counsel go beyond the white male norm. In one case, Wal-Mart went so far as to terminate its relationship with a firm for lacking diversity."

The Star 3/16/07 Reports that Morgan Stanley Settles Gender Class-Action Suit

"Morgan Stanley has agreed to settle claims in a class-action suit alleging the brokerage firm discriminated against thousands of its female financial advisers in compensation and promotion. The suit alleges Morgan Stanley discriminated against female brokers in training and mentoring, account assignments and in taking part in company-approved partnership arrangements with other brokers, according to a court document filed in June. Settlement specifics have not been released."
