The following are typical of the criteria used by some attorneys to screen for Vioxx clients.
1. under age 55 at time of heart attack or stroke
2. no pre-existing heart disease
3. no diabetes
4. no serious hypertension
5. no hyperlipidemia (LDL cholesterol > than 160)
6. no history of cigarette smoking
7. no family history of premature heart disease (< age 55) in mother or father.
