Merck had knowledge of the dangers of Vioxx

This is not news. Its just the facts. Merck knew of the dangers of Vioxx long before they recalled the product. And this is not just speculation.

For those attorneys who have fought to protect people injured by Vioxx, the litigation against merckhas revealed that Merck knew of the dangers long before the "September 2004" discovery, as they have played this out in the news.

In sworn testimony by depostion, Merck doctors in charge of developing Vioxx admitted that Merck was aware of the possibility of Vioxx increasing the risk of heart attacks as early as the mid 1990's.

Merck's study (VIGOR) showed in 1999 that Vioxx increased heart attack rates.

Deposition of Merck doctors involved in the VIGOR study show that they were well aware of the increased risk of heart attacks. Strokes were alos found in that study. Results of this were released in 2001.

Rooms full of documents produced in discovery confirm these facts. Most of these documents are being subjected to confidentiality by Merck, because they do not want the public to know the truth. When these documents finally are revealed, it will not paint a good picture for the actions of Merck. Basically, profits over people.
