Charisse Stevenson paused for a moment before carrying a load of laundry upstairs in her Hazelton home Sunday and it probably saved her life. Shortly after 5 p.m. a semi-truck on Interstate 84 lost its right front wheel due to an overheated bearing. The wheel, which the driver described as glowing with heat, rolled off the shoulder and bounced across the frontage road before crashing through a wall in Stevenson's home and landing at the base of the stairs.

Environmental Construction Services of Poca, W.Va involved in truck accident
December 5, 2004
A Parkersburg man is in fair condition after his vehicle was struck head-on by an 18-wheel flat bed truck Friday afternoon north of St. Marys on West Virginia 2.
Both vehicles were total losses with heavy debris and gasoline covering the road. Wheeler was not transported and said he did not need medical attention.
