Jogger Dies After Darting In Front Of Semi Truck

A semi truck crashed into a jogger across State Road 40 near Apaloosa Lane.

The big rig truck ran her over when she stepped out in front of it.

A wintess says it was the fault of the jogger. "I saw the person standing there with the red shorts and the white top and I'm going, 'What is this person thinking?' There's a tractor trailer coming there at 60 mph and she decides to cut across the street," says Peter Janda.

The woman was taken by medivac to the hospital where she died from injuries due to contact with the big semi truck.

Florida Highway Patrol officers said the truck accident occured when the driver of the big rig truck, Gene Numanuma, lost control of his truck when he swerved to avoid hitting Aliano, causing the big truck to land on its side.
