In early February 2006, the FDA issues a health advisory for Aprotinin (Trasylol)
alerting doctors who perform heart bypass surgery that two scientific
publications linked serious side effects to Aprotinin causing patients who had
undergone artery bypass graft surgery to have kidney failure, heart attacks,
encephalopathy brain disease, and strokes.
Bayer disputed the Aprotinin heart attack and Aprotinin renal failure findings claiming that the data was not in line with 15 years
