Bayer AG can expect a slowdown in the growth in sales of its blood loss drug Trasylol, after an independent study showed that the drug was associated with health risks, board member Wolfgang Plischke said after the full-year results news conference.

An independent study showed in January that use of the drug was associated with increased risk of kidney failure, higher stroke risk and encephalopathy, a degenerative disease of the brain, in cardiac surgery.
