The only U.S. pharmaceutical company she expects to post a good quarter is Johnson & Johnson due to expected growth from drugs like antipsychotic Risperdal, epilepsy and migraine drug Topamax and Remicade, a drug for rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease and an arthritis of the spine called ankilosing spondilitis. The company is diversifying away from drugs, though, and in mid-December decided to buy device-maker Guidant for $25.4billion, the biggest health-care deal of 2004.
