Mental Health Drug Use Increasing Rapidly

Economist Samuel H. Zuvekas, PhD, who conducted the analysis, says about 80% of the growth in mental health expenditures can be explained by the increase in the use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and other antidepressants, and high-priced schizophrenia drugs called "atypical antipsychotics," like Risperdal, Zyprexa, and Geodon. http://my.webmd.com/content/article/99/105223.htm
