Lawsuits against Ortho Evra

What do you do if you have a blood clot? How do massive blood clots in the lungs go away? If they don't go away, can you file an Ortho Evra lawsuit? Patch lawsuits against ortho evra have been filed. These , lawsuits against the birth control orthoevera allege that the drug caused serious harm due to excessive estrogen causing clotting which can lead to stroke, heart attack, DVT, pulmonary embolism.

A blood clot is usually the cause of pulmonary embolus, which is a blockage of an artery in the lungs by fat, air, clumped tumor cells, or a blood clot. Disolving a blood clot can be tricky. Often blood thinners are used, but these put the patient at risk for excssive bleading or the worsening of bleeding in the event of a stroke.

One such case involving a lawsuit against Ortho Evra was filed on December 27th, 2005 by Schlichter, Bogard & Denton Filed an Ortho Patch Suit for Death of 17 Year Old Against Johnson & Johnson, Inc. On of the lawsuits against Ortho Evra alleges (biz.yahoo.com), ...From approximately August, 2003 until her death, Ashley Lewis was prescribed, purchased and used the Ortho Evra Birth Control Patch. From approximately October 22, 2003, Ashley Lewis made multiple trips to the doctors' offices, clinics and Forest Park Hospital exhibiting signs and symptoms of adverse reactions to the birth control patch until her death on December 17, 2003. According to attorney Jerry Schlichter of Schlichter, Bogard & Denton, attorney for Ms. Lewis, "In November, 2005, the FDA required a warning to be put on the Ortho Evra Birth Control Patch stating that it could cause heart attack, blood clots and strokes. This is a terrible tragedy involving a 16 year old who should not have died."
