Should drug manufacturers be required to reveal drug trial data to the public?

It should be mandatory, so that the public, and those willing to interpret the data on behalf of consumers, can independently review the drug trial data to determine drug safety.

This information should be open to the public so that there are independent people viewing the data/

This will prmote greater safety awareness, in the public, in the medical community, and for other manufacturers who have similar drugs under development or study.

Vioxx is a great example of where this data, had it been made public, would have shown earlier the dangers assocaited with the drug. This or course is not favored by the drug manufactuers, as it would require full and honest disclosure and might result in a lower stock price for the company, when news is bad.
