Radiation Poisoning and CT Scans

Radiation Lawsuit Information

Has the FDA done enough investigation into CT scan radiation poisoning? It depends on whom you ask.

Radiation poisoning or radiation sickness is damage to organ tissue caused by excessive exposure to ionizing radiation. Radiation poisoning generally refers to acute problems caused by a large dosage of radiation in a short period like a CT brain scan.

Radiation poisoning can lead to brain damage and cancer. Severe radiation poisoning is fatal 50 percent of the time.

There are two basic types of radiation: ionizing and non-ionizing. Here we are concerned about ionizing – which comes from medical testing and treatment like X-rays and CT scans and weapons and weapon development.

Radiation poisoning is usually associated with acute exposure and has its own set of symptoms. Chronic exposure is usually associated with delayed medical problems such as cancer and premature aging, which may happen over a long period of time. The risk of cancer depends on the dose and begins to build up even with very low doses.

The severity of symptoms and acute radiation poisoning depends on the type of radiation and the amount of radiation, how long you were exposed, and which part of the body was exposed. Symptoms of radiation sickness may occur immediately after exposure, or over the next few days, weeks, or months.

Radiation poisoning symptoms include:

  • pattern of hair loss like a uniform ring around the back of the scalp
  • dehydration
  • bloody stool
  • bleeding from mouth, gums, and nose
  • fatigue
  • mouth ulcers
  • open sores on the skin
  • nausea & vomiting occur within one hour of high radiation doses
  • fainting
  • bruising
  • redness/itching/skin burns/shedding
  • stomach ulcers
  • vomiting blood
  • dizziness, disorientation, low blood pressure

When the basal cell layer of the skin is damaged by radiation, inflammation, redness of the skin, and dry or moist shedding or sloughing of skin can occur.

What’s wrong with this medical scenario? Why and how do patients need to suffer further and be endangered through more harm from the CT brain scan medical device? Shouldn’t the possible cure be more helpful than harmful?

Have you or a loved one been harmed from radiation poison?
