Two vehicles - a Dodge Dakota pickup truck and Ford Explorer - collided causing the Ford Explorer to roll over several times shattering glass and expelling the contents of the vehicle before coming to rest on its side in a muddy field. Rain slicked roads may have contributed to the accident.

The driver of the Ford Explorer crawled out of his overturned vehicle. He wasn't ejected because he had his seat belt on. The front airbags deployed in the Dodge, which helped minimize the injuries in that vehicle.

Four people were taken to Fresno hospitals by ambulance.
