The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says wearing a seat belt reduces your risk of fatal injury when sitting in the front seat of a passenger car by 45 percent. A 39-year-old man was killed after he was ejected from his vehicle during a rollover accident on U.S. 281. According to a police report, the Ford SUV was traveling south on the highway near Stone Oak Parkway when the vehicle somehow lost control around 11:15 p.m. Saturday. The report indicated the SUV swerved into a grassy median before veering back into the lane and flipping over several times. The vehicle came to a stop on a grassy field on the opposite side of the road, ejecting the driver.

State police said a 27-year-old Connecticut man was killed and a 2-year-old child was seriously injured in a single-car rollover on Interstate 95 south. The child was taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital. The child's condition wasn't immediately known.
