In Texas, a jury held that Firestone was at fault in causing a 22 year old to become a quadriplegic. At least 271 people have died in accidents attributed to tire blowouts like the one who hurt a woman in her Mazda Navajo before the tires were recalled. Both Ford and Firestone were held to account by this Texas jury. No surprise, Ford plans an appeal.
