Ask Larry: "Am I Entitled to Workers Comp Benefits?" : Blog Home : Finding a Workers Compensation Lawyer in Pennsylvania : Article

If I have to hire a lawyer to get my workers compensation, how much should I expect to pay? What will it cost to hire a workers' compensation lawyer?

What does it cost? You should not have to pay anything "out of pocket" to hire a workers compensation lawyer. Most workers compensation lawyers will work on a contingent fee basis. A contingent fee is an agreed upon percentage of the amount recovered.

Most attorneys charge up to the maximum of 20% of the amount recovered. Some attorneys may work for less than 20% in certain cases.

Your attorney should also pay all filing fees and costs for expert witnesses. Commonly, these out of pocket expenses will be repaid to your attorney upon the conclusion of the case. If you do not win your case, most attorneys will absorb the loss of those costs.

So from an out of pocket standpoint, it should cost you nothing to hire an attorney to work on your case. They will receive their fees as a percentage of the amount that they recover for you. And our firm will also give you a free initial consultation. So if you want to learn more about what we can do for you, fill out our free, no obligation, case inquiry form.
