About Workers Compensation Lawyers

Workers compensation is the area of law that covers the rights of individuals who are injured while performing their job. The injuries suffered could involve a sudden trauma, such as a fall from a ladder, an auto-accident, or a lifting injury. But they can also include injuries that happen over time, such as repetitive stress injuries like a carpal tunnel injury or hearing losses. Yet a third type of workers compensation injury would be illness caused by the work place. Examples of work place injuries include cancers from exposure to a substance like asbestos, brain damage or lung damage from exposure to chemicals.

There are many areas of law. Just as there are people who spend most of their time doing one thing or another, Larry Levin, Esq. and the Bulldog Lawyers at Shor Levin DeRita spend most of their time focused on workers compensation. While we can't say that we are "experts" in workers compensation, it is the only area of law that we practice. A wise man once said, "know what you do, and do what you know." We know workers compensation.

Some workers compensation lawyers attend conferences on work injuries. Some even teach at these conferences. Many of our lawyers have done both. In addition, some lawyers who handle workers compensation are members of WILG, the Workers Injury Law & Advocacy Group. In fact, Larry Levin, Esq., the Bulldog Lawyer, is a member of the Board of WILG.
