The federal Vioxx cases took a major step forward when U.S. District Judge Eldon E. Fallon of the Eastern District of Louisiana selected a plaintiffs steering committee that will help shepherd what is expected to be lengthy and complex litigation. A spot on the committee is coveted, because members will navigate issues that can affect the cases' outcome and will also help develop overall strategy. Committee members will also gain prestige, possibly leading to more clients and more money.
