Is Medical Monitoring important if you had an implant of untested tissue?

Medical Monitoring is very important. It may be that as many as 1% of all people receiveing untested bone or human tissue are at risk for disease. Health care providers not reliable sources and thus it is important to get testing. And with some dieases, Prion disease, there is a long latency period. Blood Tests can be performed to find Hepatitis B & C, HTLV, CMV, AIDS. In addition, you are at added risk of Bones collapsing, fusion failure, bacterial infection and renal failure.

Thus, anyone who has an unscreened tissue from an implant must be followed for life (annual examination), with testing for Leukemia, Dementia, Prions. The cost of this is $500 per year for history and physical and $500 for testing in year one and then another $700 per year total thereafter. With a life expectancy of 40-50 years for many recipients, the total cost is very large.
