Does Depo Provera cause osteoporosis,
osteophyte complex, loss of bone mineral density (BMD), also known as bone density loss or bone mass loss? Are young among the women
who were prescribed Depo Provera for birth control only to unknowingly losing calcium and now risk hip fractures, loss of height, and back injuries in your later years as a result of low bone density?
Depo-Provera is a long-acting hormonal form of birth control (progestin).
This birth control may be effective in preventing pregnancy. It is also the most
controversial and there are legal cases against Depo Provera for low bone density and Depo Provera. Since its inception into the pharmaceutical marketplace, this drug has attracted criticism from women’s health groups all over the world. Many have called for the stopping Depo Provera as a form of birth control because of the loss from of bone density and bone mass.
Depo Provera low bone density concerns include:
- Problems with hip and spine fractures that
began at the onset of taking DEPO PROVERA -- even at a very young age
- Height shrinking, loss of height, caused by
bone compression
- Problems diagnosed as osteoporosis,
osteopenia, or osteophyte complex
- Often no family history of osteoporosis problems
until the patient starting taking DEPO PROVERA
- Lack of bone density continued to be a
problem even after stopping the use of DEPO PROVERA.
- Inability or struggle to bear children even
after stopping DEPO PROVERA injections
- DEPO PROVERA abuse not only as birth
control, but given to girls with MHMR (mental health/mental retardation) so
they will not menstruate
